Multiple races in 2017
This year the 20 participating Young Solar teams were also able to sail at 3 different races, in Akkrum, Lelystad and Oosterwolde.
The first race started again in Akkrum during the Reuzedei. The weekend started as usual with the Technical Inspections, swimming tests and sailing tests. The following day, racing day, started with an endurance followed by the a sprint. Even though D'Oultremontcollege and Bogerman were evenly matched, D'Oultremontcollege became the winner of the first raceweekend in 2017.
A new location was discovered during the second race. In cooperation with the Solar Sport One the Young Solar teams were able to show off their skills in the Batavia harbour in Lelystad. Bogerman was again evenly matched with a team, however this race it was with Leeuwarder Lyceum. Unfortunately, Bogerman had to watch the first price go again to the other team, and Leeuwarder Lyceum won the second raceweekend in Lelystad.
The last race of 2017 was held in Oosterwolde during the Young Emotion. The campsite was improvised at the school of one of the participating teams: het Stellingwerf College. During the race the teams had to sail an endurance and a sprint. After these race elements Leeuwarder Lyceum knew how to boat all the other teams again, and became the winner of the last raceweekend in 2017!
